Foreign Satellite
I was looking through old space mysteries when I found a story that sounded like something from a science fiction movie.
An object supposedly older than human civilization, floating above Earth and watching us.
The name that kept coming up was the Black Knight Satellite.
According to the theory, a mysterious object has been orbiting Earth for thousands of years, possibly an ancient alien probe sent to monitor humanity.
The story became popular after several unrelated events were connected together.
In 1899, Nikola Tesla reported strange radio signals that some later linked to the idea of an alien transmission.
In the 1920s, radio operators reported unusual delayed echoes coming from space.
Then in 1998, during NASA's Space Shuttle Endeavour mission, astronauts photographed a strange object floating in orbit.
That image became one of the biggest pieces of evidence used by believers.
NASA later explained that the object was likely a piece of space debris, specifically a thermal blanket that had accidentally drifted away during the mission.
But people who believe in the Black Knight theory argue that the explanation doesn't answer every question.
They point to the unusual stories surrounding the object and claim there might be more to it.
The reason this mystery refuses to disappear is because it combines two things humans are obsessed with.
The possibility that we're not alone.
And the possibility that something has been watching us for longer than we realize.
Maybe it was just a piece of lost equipment.
Maybe it was never anything mysterious at all.
But the idea of an unknown object silently orbiting Earth for decades...
is exactly the kind of story that keeps people looking up at the sky.
