Left or Right?

I originally thought it was just a strange road trip.

A journalist named Alice Sharman joined a group of explorers chasing what sounded like an impossible story. Their goal was simple: follow a set of driving instructions that supposedly led somewhere outside normal reality.

Take a left.

Then take the next possible right.

Repeat.

Most people would assume it was just an internet myth, something created for entertainment. But the group believed there was something hidden along that road, something that only appeared if the rules were followed perfectly.

At first, nothing seemed unusual.

Then the world started changing.

The roads became unfamiliar. The landscape looked almost normal but slightly wrong, like reality had been recreated from memory by something that didn't fully understand it.

The deeper they went, the less human everything became.

They encountered impossible locations, strange figures, and dangers that seemed to know exactly what frightened them. A silent hitchhiker appeared, following them without speaking. Other vehicles disappeared without explanation.

The road itself seemed alive.

It wasn't just a place they were traveling through.

It was watching them.

Eventually, the group realized they weren't exploring a hidden location.

They had crossed into something else.

A world where thoughts could become reality, where fears could take physical form, and where the laws they understood no longer mattered.

Alice watched everyone around her disappear one by one until she was left completely alone.

The final realization was the most terrifying part.

The road wasn't leading somewhere.

The road was choosing.

And once it accepted you, leaving was never guaranteed.
