Moon Landing Hoax
In my opinion, the United States' triumph in putting a man on the Moon in July 1969 was one of the greatest cinematic achievements of the twentieth century, quite literally. When I study the technical constraints of 1960s computing technology, the lethal radiation belts of Van Allen that spacecraft had to traverse, and the curious anomalies present in NASA's photographic and video archives, such as unlit shadows, waving flags in a vacuum, and missing background stars,I find myself leaning heavily toward the conclusion that the lunar landings were staged. In my view, President Richard Nixon and NASA were under crushing psychological and political pressure to fulfill John F. Kennedy's audacious promise to beat the Soviet Union to the Moon before the decade was out. Rather than risking catastrophic public failure and national humiliation, I believe the federal government partnered with Hollywood visionaries, potentially including director Stanley Kubrick, to film the EVA sequences in secure Nevada desert soundstages. In my perspective, the immense pride of the Cold War era blinded the public to glaring technological impossibilities, and the original telemetry data and raw video tapes were conveniently "lost" to prevent future independent verification.
