Pentagon support and influence in Hollywood productions

The number of movies and television shows that have reportedly received Pentagon assistance is much larger than most people would probably expect. Research into the records identified more than 1,100 television titles that received some form of Pentagon backing, with roughly 900 of them dating from 2005 onward.

The list includes productions such as *Flight 93*, *Ice Road Truckers* and *Army Wives*, showing that the relationship isn't limited to obvious military documentaries or recruitment campaigns. Feature films have an even longer history of cooperation, with more than 800 productions reportedly receiving Department of Defense support between 1911 and 2017.

Some of the biggest names on that list are surprisingly familiar. Major franchises including *Transformers*, *Iron Man* and *The Terminator* were among the productions that received military assistance. Seeing those titles alongside the sheer number of supported productions makes the relationship between Hollywood and the Pentagon look less like a handful of unusual collaborations and more like a longstanding part of the entertainment industry.
