WAWDOS Community Guidelines

Welcome to We Are Weirdos (WAWDOS)
WAWDOS is built around creepy stories, conspiracies, strange experiences, and unusual ideas.
The content can be dark.
The atmosphere can be unsettling.
The community should not be.
These Community Guidelines exist to make WAWDOS a place where people can share their stories and ideas without being judged, harassed, threatened, or attacked.
By using WAWDOS, you agree to follow these guidelines.
1. Respect Other Users
Everyone on WAWDOS is here for their own reasons.
You may disagree with someone's story, conspiracy, opinion, or experience, but disagreement does not give you permission to attack the person behind it.
Do not:
Bully another user
Harass another user
Insult another user
Mock someone for their story or experience
Target someone repeatedly
Encourage other users to attack someone
Use offensive language toward another user
Attempt to humiliate another user
Judge the story if you want to question it. Don't judge the person who shared it.
2. No Threats
Threats have no place on WAWDOS.
You cannot threaten another user, the WAWDOS community, or anyone else through the platform.
This includes direct threats as well as statements intended to intimidate or frighten another person.
Threatening behavior may result in immediate account action.
3. No Doxxing or Revealing Someone's Identity
WAWDOS is built around anonymity.
Do not attempt to uncover, expose, publish, or distribute another user's real-world identity.
This includes attempting to reveal:
Real names
Addresses
Phone numbers
Private social media accounts
Personal contact information
Other information intended to identify an anonymous user Do not use information from a user's story to attempt to identify them.
Cipher means anonymous. Respect that.
4. Do Not Reveal Your Own Identity Unnecessarily WAWDOS allows you to participate without publicly using your real identity.
If you want to remain anonymous, do not place personally identifying information inside your stories or other submissions.
Think before posting.
Once identifying information is publicly shared, WAWDOS cannot guarantee that other users will not see or copy it.
5. No Judgment or Bullying of Stories
WAWDOS is not a jury.
Users should not treat someone's story as an invitation to attack, ridicule, or humiliate the person who submitted it.
You are allowed to disagree.
You are allowed to question whether something happened.
You are allowed to have your own interpretation.
You are not allowed to turn disagreement into harassment.
Keep criticism focused on the content rather than attacking the person who submitted it.
6. Keep the Community Supportive
WAWDOS wants positivity to exist even within a platform centered around creepy and disturbing subjects.
Supportive interaction is encouraged.
Respectful discussion is encouraged.
Constructive disagreement is encouraged.
Hostility, personal attacks, bullying, and deliberate attempts to make another user feel unwelcome are not.
A story can be terrifying without the comments becoming toxic.
7. Don't Become a Threat to the Community
WAWDOS reserves the right to take action against accounts that repeatedly or seriously threaten the safety, privacy, or integrity of the community.
This can include behavior such as:
Repeated harassment
Threats
Doxxing
Targeted bullying
Deliberate abuse of the platform
Repeated attempts to bypass restrictions
Behavior intended to harm other users or WAWDOS The severity of the action may depend on the seriousness of the violation and the user's history.
8. Enforcement
Breaking the Community Guidelines can result in restrictions being placed on your WAWDOS account.
Depending on the violation, WAWDOS may:
Remove the violating content
Restrict specific account features
Prevent the user from commenting
Flag the user's account
Temporarily restrict the account
Permanently restrict access to the account
WAWDOS does not have to wait for repeated violations before taking action.
Serious violations may result in immediate consequences.
9. Account Flags
WAWDOS may place a visible flagged label on an account when a user has violated the Community Guidelines.
The purpose of the label is to make the enforcement action visible rather than silently restricting an account.
We believe visible consequences can help discourage repeated violations and make it clear that harmful behavior has consequences within the community.
A flagged label may remain visible for one week.
If the user repeats the violation, the applicable flagged period may be extended to double the previous duration.
During an active flagged period, the user may be restricted from commenting while retaining access to other available interactions and the ability to submit stories, unless a more serious restriction is necessary.
10. Serious or Repeated Violations
Repeatedly breaking the rules may result in increasingly serious restrictions.
A user who continues violating the Community Guidelines after previous enforcement actions may lose access to additional features or ultimately lose access to their WAWDOS account.
WAWDOS may also take stronger action immediately when a violation is considered sufficiently serious.
11. Do Not Abuse the Platform
WAWDOS is intended for genuine participation.
Do not intentionally abuse platform functionality, manipulate community systems, or attempt to interfere with other users' ability to use WAWDOS.
Do not attempt to bypass restrictions placed on your account.
If you have been restricted, creating or using another account to evade that restriction may result in further action.
12. Stories and Conspiracies
WAWDOS exists specifically for stories, conspiracies, strange experiences, and unusual ideas.
You are encouraged to share them.
However, the fact that WAWDOS allows unusual content does not remove the requirement to respect other people.
Your content should not be used as an excuse to:
Threaten someone
Target someone
Reveal someone's identity
Harass another person
Encourage users to attack another person
The subject matter can be weird.
The behavior around it still matters.
13. Cipher and Anonymous Users
Cipher is intended to provide users with an anonymous way to submit content.
Do not attempt to identify a Cipher user.
Do not speculate publicly about who a Cipher user is in a way that could lead to their identification.
Do not use information contained within a Cipher submission to target or expose its author.
Respect the anonymity that WAWDOS provides.
14. Reporting Problems
If you encounter behavior that appears to violate these Community Guidelines, you can contact WAWDOS at:

When contacting us about a violation, provide as much relevant information as possible so that the issue can be reviewed.
WAWDOS will review reported issues and determine what action, if any, is appropriate.
15. The Basic Rule
If you remember nothing else, remember this:
Don't be the reason someone stops feeling comfortable on WAWDOS.
Tell your stories.
Share your theories.
Question things.
Disagree.
Be weird.
But don't bully people, threaten people, expose people, or make the community hostile.
The internet already has enough places like that.
WAWDOS is supposed to be different.
Stay weird. Stay respectful.
