WAWDOS Copyright Policy

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

At We Are Weirdos (WAWDOS), we respect the work and creativity of the people who contribute to our platform.

This Copyright Policy explains how copyright applies to content submitted to WAWDOS and to content created by WAWDOS.

1. Your Content

You retain ownership of the original content that you create and submit to WAWDOS, unless you have separately agreed otherwise.

Submitting a story, conspiracy, experience, or other original work to WAWDOS does not automatically mean that WAWDOS becomes the owner of the copyright in that work.

However, by submitting your content, you give WAWDOS permission to use the submission as described in our Content Submission Policy and Terms & Conditions.

This allows WAWDOS to publish, feature, present, adapt, and use your submission as part of WAWDOS and WAWDOS-related content.

2. Permission to Submit Content

You should only submit content that you have the right to submit.

By submitting content to WAWDOS, you represent that:

You created the content or have permission to submit it Your submission does not knowingly infringe another person's copyright You have the necessary rights to allow WAWDOS to use the submission Your submission does not knowingly contain copyrighted material that you do not have permission to use If you submit someone else's work without permission, you may be responsible for the consequences of doing so.

3. How WAWDOS Credits Submissions

WAWDOS is built around user anonymity.

For this reason, WAWDOS does not publicly credit submissions using the contributor's real-world identity.

When attribution is provided, a submission may be credited using the contributor's WAWDOS username.

For example:

Submitted by @YourWAWDOSUsername

If the submission was made through Cipher, WAWDOS may use Cipher or another anonymous designation instead.

This allows WAWDOS to recognize contributors while maintaining their public anonymity.

4. WAWDOS Use of Submitted Content

By submitting content to WAWDOS, you provide WAWDOS with permission to use the content in connection with WAWDOS.

This may include:

Publishing the submission

Featuring the submission

Presenting the submission in WAWDOS's storytelling format Using the submission in WAWDOS-related videos Using the submission in promotional material Sharing the submission through WAWDOS-operated social media or other WAWDOS-related channels

Adapting the presentation of the submission for WAWDOS

The permission described above is intended to allow WAWDOS to operate and promote the platform while preserving the public anonymity of contributors.

The specific terms governing the use of submissions are also described in the Content Submission Policy and Terms & Conditions.

WAWDOS may create original material for the platform, including but not limited to:

The WAWDOS name and identity are part of the platform and may not be used in a way that falsely suggests an association, endorsement, or ownership by another person or organization.

6. Do Not Repost Other Users' Work as Your Own A story being publicly available on WAWDOS does not mean that you automatically have permission to copy it and present it as your own work.

Do not take another user's story and submit, publish, or distribute it elsewhere while claiming that you created it.

Respect the person who originally shared it.

If you want to use another user's work outside WAWDOS, obtain the appropriate permission from the rights holder.
